Recipe for Beauty The recipe for beauty is to have less illusion and more Soul, to retreat from the belief of pain or pleasure in the body into the unchanging calm and glorious freedom of spiritual harmony.~ Mary Baker Eddy
Oil Disolves Oil! Contrary to what mainstream skin care manufacturers would like you believe, did you know that oil disolves oil? It does, which makes it a great cleanser to get rid of oily blackheads. Try a little oil and steam to deep clean your skin with and you'll see those pesky spots disappear immediately!
Age Spots These flat, gray, brown or black spots occur on more than 90% of fair-skinned people past the age of 50. Skin formulas containing maximum strength hydroquinone can gently fade darker skin and age spots. Any suspicious looking moles or spots that have an irregular pattern should be checked by your dermatologist to be sure they're not cancerous.
Quit Smoking Nothing is worst for the skin than the nasty habit of smoking. Not only is it bad for your circulation, cigarettes raise your blood pressure and heart rate and make it more difficult to fall asleep. Many people aren't aware that nicotine is a stimulant and can keep you awake like large doses of caffeine. Smoker's also wake up more in the middle of the night, possibly because of withdrawal symptoms.

Aromatherapy Massage Oils
Written by Sanji Gretta

If you’ve never used aromatherapy massage oils, you owe it to yourself to try it. You’re in for a totally unique experience. Whether you want a massage to relax or to rejuvenate or even to heal, using aromatherapy massage oils brings the body’s senses to new heights.

Aromatherapy has made steady gains in use and for good reason. Offering the perfect combination of mental and physical well being, there is no better way to take advantage of aromatherapy than to enjoy its fragrances in massage oils.

Our body’s different senses have been shown to have a direct affect on how we feel. For example, the nose is a very sensitive part of your body. Without it, you cannot taste or smell. Imagine your favorite foods. Now, imagine you cannot taste them. That is scary, everything you eat with no taste! How do you think that would affect your attitude throughout the day?

Studies have shown that the part of your nervous system that helps to control your emotions is connected directly to your nose. Lack of smell can cause symptoms ranging from depression to anxiety and this is only one of your senses. With the knowledge of how the mind depends on the feedback from your senses, the idea of aromatherapy exploded onto the scene.

Women Focusing on Skin Care

Looking good doesn't mean more makeup...

Elaine Sterling was a teenager during much of the '80s — when heavy makeup was big and using moisturizers and exfoliaters wasn't.

Back then she wore heavy black eyeliner and lots of foundation and blush. The 36-year-old calls it the "Boy George era" — and admits that, like many women, she paid more attention to covering her skin than caring for it.

Now, Sterling, the director of aesthetics for Spa Sydell, says her look has changed dramatically. "It's really just less-is-more as far as makeup goes now," she says. "I still sometimes do the black eyeliner, but it's very subdued."

And she's not alone. About 35 percent of women ages 35 to 54 said they've cut back on the number of makeup products in the last five years, according to a WSL Strategic Retail Internet survey released this week. Forty-three percent of women age 55 and over said they've also cut back. Only 6 percent in each of those age groups said they spend more time wearing makeup now than five years ago, with the rest indicating they spend about the same amount of time.

Makeup artists and aestheticians say the emphasis on cleansing, exfoliating and moisturizing skin over the last decade has helped women look better naturally — so they need less makeup.

Oil Cleansing
Written by Stephanie Strauss
When cleansing and moisturizing your skin, it is imperative that you keep in mind that oil disolves oil. Do not be afraid of applying oil to your face. Oil, alone, will not cause you blemishes. Pimples, cysts, zits, blackheads and whiteheads are a result of several different factors including hormones, bacteria, dead skin cells and the buildup of these factors. Your skin naturally produces oil because it needs it. It is not a malicious force to be reckoned with, it is there for the benefit of your skin. It is naturally occurring. Oil helps lubricate, heal, protect, and moisturize your skin so that it may function properly. Properly functioning skin is beautiful, clear, and glowing.

While I'm talking about the benefits of oil applied externally, I'd like to mention how important it is to moisturize from the inside as well. WATER! Drink no less than 8 glasses of water a day. If your skin has issues with blemishes, drink up! Water will help release and remove the toxins from within, leaving behind glowing, dewey, toned skin. Carry a bottle of water around with you throughout the day so water is always available.

Now, to the point of this article.
