Eyes & Lips
I've tried so many stinkin' eye creams and honestly, the only thing that has made a true difference is shea butter. I apply it after my face cream has had a minute to sink in and it feels absolutely amazing. My under eyes are buttery smooth and hydrated. And I'm not kidding...I've tried all of the top rated eye creams at Sephora, Ulta, and even some from Amazon. I will say, though, that I can't use it during the day underneath makeup as it tends to dissolve my concealer and powder. During the day, I discovered that Blistex Deep Renewal lip balm (yes, you read that right) works like magic under my eyes to hydrate AND prime for my concealer! And it's cheap to boot. I apply it straight after my face cream, let it sit while I do other things in my routine, and just before I put on my makeup, I blot away the excess. It's also SPF 15, but has never irritated my eyes whatsoever. I shudder to think of what I've spent on the top eye creams available only to find that two of the cheapest things you could use are the most effective. Oh, and it's great on the lips, too, but lacks staying power, so...
I'm prone to true blackheads around my lip line and have to be very careful of what I use and how I use it. I love Weleda's Everon at night over a little shea butter, but I have to keep it away from my lip line. It's one that you can apply before bed and it's still there in the morning. It's thick and smells of plant extracts (very natural smelling) and is rather inelegant, but it absolutely moisturizes, seals, and protects which is perfect for nighttime. For daytime, I really like Blistex Deep Renewal. It just gives me healthy, hydrated looking lips with a nice sheen and is one of the very best lip balms I've ever used.
